Screened Porch 2016

I was commissioned to design and build a screened porch using an existing deck, tie in to the existing gable end and complement the existing structure. The plan was to extend the existing 12' X 12' section of deck to 12' X 24'. The porch is a post and beam design with full screen in each bay opening. Two skylights, six can lights and two ceiling fans were placed in the White Pine tongue and groove ceiling. Two screened doors make a smoothe traffic pattern when entertaining.

For the rest of the existing deck I designed a two tiered addition to complement the porch.  Low voltage lighting was added at each level.  

The exterior was painted to match the existing house trim. The ceiling and beams have three coats of satin spar-varnish. The posts have a white simi-transparent stain creating a "white wash" finish. The screened doors have an oil based exterior finish.
