This Spire style birdhouse has a cherry roof and base with Maple for the house.
The Long Traditional birdhouse is made from walnut for the base and roof and maple for the house section. I pick the most figured maple with spalting and ambrosia figure I can find for this style. I cut the maple into sections and glue them together a way that allows the figure to wrap around the house creating a flowing detail. The walnut has a consistent, dark grain and is a perfect wood to turn fine details in. Each house has a unique color but similar in size.
The cedar contemporary has my standard 3 coats of spar-varnish as an exterior finish and the interior is unfinished. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of this item.
